Goalie Development

The Richmond Ravens offer goalie development for all goalies in our association (and any players interested in trying out the position!)

Goaltending is the greatest need in any minor hockey Association, and especially in female hockey.  The Ravens are committed to making the goaltending position an attractive option for any age group!

The Ravens will host a number of “Try Hockey” events during the season for anyone interested in the position, and you can borrow our gear for free.

ABOUT THE TRAINERS & SESSIONS

For U7 and U9: The Ravens have a number of Hockey Canada and USA Hockey-certified goaltending instructors, including current Ravens goaltenders.  From October through March, at least twice a month, these Ravens goaltending coaches will work with our new and aspiring goaltenders.

For U11 through U18: Our full-time goaltenders have the option of bringing in their own goalie skills provider, twice a month during their team practices.  This cost is fully paid for by the Ravens.  If you have a skills provider, they need to send an email to secretary@richmondravenshockey.ca to send:

  • Hockey resume
  • References
  • Current valid Respect In Sport and Concussion Awareness Training Tool
  • Criminal Record Check using Access Code QPWVQ77NTU

Invoices from your skills provider are to be sent to the email address above at the end of the month.

No skills provider?  No problem!  The Ravens are happy to make recommendations based on your goalie’s development needs.
