    By Kevin Krygier

June 27 at 5 pm (photo time) at Haakon Industries (11851 Dyke Rd)

    Hello Ravens Hockey,

Richmond RCMP is hosting a unique photo op to recognize Canada's 150th Birthday. The event details follow. Hockey and the RCMP are both symbols of Canada and are woven into the history of our country and our community. We would appreciate your extending this invite to those youth and families who are a part of Ravens Hockey. The support of Ravens Hockey would be fantastic!!

Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. Otherwise, we hope to see you on Tuesday, June 27.

    Best regards,

    Kevin Krygier

Many of you have seen the recent Capilano Suspension Bridge photo involving 100 members in Red Serge (attached). We are looking to undertake something similar in Richmond and need your help.

Close to the main Richmond RCMP Detachment, there is a business, Haakon Industries, with a full size ball hockey rink in its parking lot. With the blessing of Haakon Industries we will be filling the rink with members in Red Serge and playing a short game of hockey after raising a huge flag above the surface of the rink for a photo. The Fraser River and our boat, the 'Fraser Guardian' in the backdrop will round out the image. Queue the photographers! The more folks we have, the better the photo will be. This should be a great addition to a number of memorable Canada 150 moments.

As a valued Richmond RCMP supporter and community partner, you and members of your families are invited to join us for this unique and fun event:

June 27 at 5 pm (photo time) at Haakon Industries (11851 Dyke Rd)

    - Must wear clothing that is predominantly red & white.

    - You are requested to bring a hockey stick if you are able.

Parking is available along Dyke Rd adjacent to 'Woodwards Landing Park' or at the park parking lot at 15511 Dyke Rd (see the attached parking map). Access to the area during this time will be restricted, so please plan to arrive early.

The key to the success of this idea is a critical mass of members of the community with us in the 'red and white'.

    Thank you,
